Hardcore mode is mostly the same as the other two difficulties, with the obvious exception that Slenderman will be more aggressive, and the Into the Abyss level will be significantly more difficult.

I suggest you also check out the following achievements, as they are easily obtained in full or part during this step: Upon completion of this step, you will have earned the following: If you follow the achievement guide for the collectible achievements below, you will obtain all of the collectibles in the order they appear in the game without issue. All of the collectibles in the game are in "safe" areas, so you don't have to worry about Slenderman popping up while you're picking up collectibles. If you want to just enjoy the game, you can skip the collectibles and get them later, but I suggest against this. I suggest playing on Normal first, as beating the game on easy, then hardcore, will NOT unlock the normal achievement, thus requiring a third playthrough. The difference between each difficulty in this game is the amount of "damage" you take when Slenderman is nearby, and how aggressive he is.
